Grabinschrift aus der alten Kirche von Witchampton (17. Jhdt.):
'Heavens have my soule, let dust to dust returne, there's no rest
like to that within the Urne.
My number'd daies are spent, & now I find a quiet grave for a
contented mind.
Heere sleepe I shal, untill that day wheron, the trumpe shal sound a
resurrection:
And then my soule and body both shal be married againe to
immortalitie ...' |
